The University
of Victoria CURA program, funded by a grant from the Social
Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, was established
to develop collaborative relationships between the
University
of Victoria and the British Columbia arts and heritage community. The CURA program has provided financial
and technical support for the Upper St'át'imc History Through Photographs project.
Ms. Marilyn Napoleon of the Upper St'át'imc Language, Culture and Education Society and Dr. Andrea
Walsh of the Department of Anthropology at UVic have co-directed this project. Towagh Behr,
an M.A. candidate in Interdisciplinary Studies at UVic, designed and constructed the website.
Community researchers from the Upper St'át'imc areas have been Gena Edwards,
Florence Jack, and Marcel Adrian. University of Victoria student
contributions to this site have been made by the department of Anthropology's
Adrienne Bonfonti, Abi Godfrey, and Cynthia Korpan. Other CURA partners
that have provided support for this research and website are the
Art Gallery of British Columbia, the British
Columbia Museums Association, the British
Columbia Archives and Records Services, the Heritage
