The location of these 3 elements may indicate that they were not executed by the artist since artists sign & date their work on the lower part of the canvas recto. Moreoverinscription does not appear to be the title proper. This observation is supported by the signature location of u984.58.7 (a twin work). This protrait of a woman by j robert exhibits the signature on the tl corner -an unusual location. Moreover the artist dates are inscribed below it, seemingly by the same hand that executed both signatures. The data's presence on the canvas further supports the observation.
