Visual Description :
The predominent subject matter is a large whale (red, black, green, and white) that diagonally crosses the picture plan, and is rendered in a west coast native style. The horizon which divides sea from sky appears as a straight line at approx. 2/3 of the way up the print. Two islands flank the whale; large island on left, small on right. Both islands are composed of black and gray rock, and are topped with evergreens. A stylized black and white moon with facial features hangs in the sky above the left island. The overall composition is well-balbnced; harmonious. Gradation of aqua water and gray sky done with great skill.
