Formerly known as the Bella Bella, the Heiltsuk First Nation is located on the coast of British Columbia and are now concentrated in Mcloughlin Bay. Bella Bella, the main village is also known as Waglisla. The language of the Heiltsuk Nation is Hailhzagvla, which is related to the Wakashan language family. 1
In the University of Victoria's Art Collections there is a finely crafted bentwood box from Bella Bella. Hieltsuk artist Brad Hunt's 'Nativity' print is also a part of the collection.
