K'ómoks (Comox)

The K'ómoks First Nation is located on the eastern shore of Vancouver Island. They are known to themselves today as the Sathloot. 1

The language of the K'ómoks people is Éy7á7juuthem, which is also spoken by First Nations Sliammon, Klahoose, and Homalco. The language is also called 'Comox'. 2

Rocky Fiddler is a K'ómoks artist whose work can be found in the University of Victoria's print collection. They reflect his unique interpretation of the Northwest Coast style, fusing contemporary design with traditional concepts.
