Norman Tait is a Nisgaía artist is from the village of Kincolith on the Nass River and was born in 1941. He belongs to the Eagle tribe and has the crest of the Beaver. Tait works in many mediums including wood, silkscreen printing and precious medals such as gold and silver. Norman became a full-time student of carving in the early seventies, and since then he has become a respected artist. Both collectors and other carvers in the Northwest Coast style admire his work. Taitís works in wood include masks, bentwood boxes, totem poles and other objects.
Taitís work in the University of Victoria Art Collections includes a number of prints and Chancellorís Chair.
