CAM Becomes Associate Member of ICCROM

The Commonwealth Association of Museums was highly honoured in 1999 by being admitted for a four year term as an Associate Member by the Council of ICCROM, the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property, in Rome, Italy. This collaboration recognizes CAM's shared commitment to ICCROM's "purpose of deep commitment to the preservation of cultural heritage" and its efforts to "boost activities in the areas of training, research, documentation and awareness." CAM looks forward to working with ICCROM on projects of mutual interest and this intent continues our recent and successful collaboration on the Distance Learning Program, Museums, Peace, Democracy and Governance in the 20th Century, in May 1999, in Barbados, and internships in 2000-2001 & 2001-2002 for PMDA, Program for Museum Development in Africa, a successor to ICCROM PREMA.
